Safety Study

The purpose of this study was to determine the safety of using the most potent Retinol+ Ramp-Up regimen (R3, 0.1% retinol Opoules+RHR Opoules) in individuals without prior use of any other retinol product over a consecutive 4-week period.

Methodology

Healthy female and male participants between the ages of 18-65 were enrolled to use the 4-week Retinol+ Ramp-Up (R3, 0.1% retinol+RHR Opoules) regimen and Opulus Activator at home. Each participant met the criteria for erythema (<1 on a 0-4 scale), and dryness (<2 on 0-4 scale). VISIA CA camera imaging and clinical grading were completed at baseline and at the end of 4 weeks. Online surveys were taken at baseline and weekly thereafter to capture any potential skin issues including erythema and dryness.

Results

25 subjects completed the study with 24 returning to have their images taken at the end of the study. It was noted that very few participants had any issues with using the potent retinol regimen over 4 weeks. Out of the 25 volunteers, 3 participants experienced a reduction in erythema (redness), and 1 experienced an increase in erythema; while 10 experienced a reduction in dryness, and 2 experienced a slight increase in dryness.Although the study was designed to test safety, many participants noticed improvements in the look of their skin.

Conclusion

The most potent Retinol+ Ramp-Up regimen (R3, 0.1% retinol Opoules + RHR Opoules) is safe to use over a consecutive 4-week period.

No adverse events were reported.
